The state issues a marriage license and then those who choose to do so go to a church where they participate in a ceremony that blesses the union of the two people on the license. And I've always wanted to ask one of the people opposed to gay marriage. So if you don't know the people involved in the marriage, as in living in another part of your state and if you do not know of this marriage tahing place, then if you are not aware? How does this effect you. I guess these sad people want others to live their lie in order to justify their own shame and cowardice.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11361428.post-57631673409366473792009-04-21T17:17:00.000-04:002009-04-21T17:17:00.000-04:00I've always seen marriage as falling within the do...I've always seen marriage as falling within the domain of religion (If you go before a Justice of the Peace, that should be considered a Civil Union, gay, straight or otherwise). The government has no place telling religions what to do (Freedom of Religion cuts both ways)... ergo, If the Episcopalian Church wants to marry gays, the government has no business telling them otherwise.

As a gay man, I am bothered by the non-arguement that gay marriage will adversely affect hetero marriage.
