Tedisco Says Rush "Meaningless"

Jim Tedisco must be kicking himself. Tedisco dissed Rush Limbaugh and probably wasn't even thinking about what he was saying.
`Rush Limbaugh is meaningless to me,'' Tedisco told the editorial board of The Daily Star on Thursday. ``The only constituency I'm worried about are the residents of the 20th Congressional District.''
Rush Should be meaningless to the person that represents the 20th District in Congress. What does Rush know about problems in the 20th District? But no one....no one, at least no Republican can get away with dissing El Rushbo.

The Huffington Post received a clarification of what Tedisco meant by his comment.
"Jim's comments were in response to a question about what voters are asking him about on the campaign trail," writes campaign spokesman Adam Kramer. "So far, the concerns he has been hearing from voters on the campaign trail have been local in nature, such as his support for lower property taxes, fiscal responsibility, and his opponent's appalling support for the AIG bonus loophole. That was his point and any effort to characterize it otherwise is a distortion of the facts."

I don't see this as an apology to Rush, but it's probably only a matter of time.

Midterms

Sorry for the lack of posting the last few days. It's midterm week and a bit hectic. I made a mistake and allowed work to be handed in right up to the day midterm grades were due. I won't make that mistake again. No students with an F in any of the 3 courses I teach. One student, initially an "F" student, is now an "A" student. That made me very happy.

Fox News Apologizes for Lying

Fox News got caught lying about Joe Biden's thoughts on the economy. Now they are apologizing for their lie.
According to a Fox spokesperson, here's part of the response: "We inadvertently used a piece of video of Vice President Biden saying the 'fundamentals of the economy are strong.' This video was from the campaign trail, when the Vice President was a candidate, and was actually quoting Senator John McCain."

Seppuku for AIG Execs

I have no love for the AIG execs that hold a good deal of responsibility for our current economic crisis, but I would never call for them to commit suicide. Not so conservative Iowa Sen. Charles Grassley, he thinks they need to do some belly cutting.
"But I would suggest the first thing that would make me feel a little bit better toward them if they'd follow the Japanese example and come before the American people and take that deep bow and say, I'm sorry, and then either do one of two things: resign or go commit suicide".

Someone needs to investigate why we continue to elect people like Grassley to represent us in the US Senate.

Would Fox News Lie?

As a liberal I take it for granted that Fox News puts the most conservative spin on its news that it can easily support. But, I've never believed they would purposely, out and out lie on the news. But they do.

The above video shows VP Biden claiming that "the fundamentals of the economy are sound". Is Biden as crazy as all those conservatives that were saying the same thing a couple months ago? Actually, VP Biden said no such thing....he was quoting John McCain as you can see by viewing the below video.

This is really disgusting. It's easy to see why viewers of Fox News are less informed than people who get their information elsewhere.
