Will War Proponents Believe W.F. Buckley Jr.?

Bill Buckley, Editor of the National Review says "It Didn't Work".
"One can't doubt that the American objective in Iraq has failed."
"Our mission has failed because Iraqi animosities have proved uncontainable by an invading army of 130,000 Americans."

These words from one of the most conservative people in the USA printed in one of our most conservative magazines.

No, they won't believe him because Buckley is an old style conservative. He's conservative in the true sense of the world. The neo-cons are aggressive and belligerent, which is the opposite of conservative. Plus, Buckley has always relied on patient, reasoned argument. I often disagreed with him but always respected him. He's very intellectual but the neo-cons' appeal is based on primordial fearmongering, resolutely anti-intellectual.
