Pew Research reports "that since 2000, newspapers have lost roughly 30 pct of their reporting and editing capacity."
In the absence of real journalism, commentary and opinion have filled the vacuum.
I remember the good old days of a bunch of college students sitting in the lounge watching Walter Cronkite. That was news and that is what is missing today.
