War in Iraq is Lost

Another awesome article published in Rolling Stone Magazine concering the Iraq War. A panel of experts agree the war is lost.

My favorite quote:
America has been conducting an experiment for the past six years, trying to validate the proposition that it really doesn't make any difference who you elect president. Now we know the result of that experiment [laughs]. If a guy is stupid, it makes a big difference.
Gen. Tony McPeak (Ret.)

Nothing like the truth

It's childish comments like this that give liberals the reputation for snobbish elitism that should rightfully belong to conservatives.

The presidency is not and should not be decided by an IQ test. Clinton and Nixon were two of the most intelligent men ever to serve in the White House. One was impeached and the other would've been had he not resigned.

The problem with Bush is not his intelligence. It's his lack of curiosity. It's his closed-mindedness. It's his complete lack of self-analysis. It's his absolute certainty that he can't possibly ever be wrong.

These are the qualities that make him a horrible leader. These are all qualities that are not at all unique to "stupid" people.

The statement may or not be childish or may have been said in a fit of anger etc. I highly doubt that General McPeak is a liberal. From Wikipedia: The term can also refer to poor use of judgement, or insensitivity to nuances in a person who is otherwise intelligent. The determination of who is stupid is relatively difficult, despite attempts to measure intelligence (and thus stupidity) such as IQ tests. The adjective is also used as a general pejorative. In any case, I believe that Bush is Stupid.
