Persons attending Schools of Tropical Medicine should have the resources to answer this question.
Heligmosomoides polygyrus larva in the submucosa of the mouse small intestine.
Congratulations to Sara and Susan ( Of course I was kidding about the cookie, who would mail a single cookie to the UK?).

Mosquito bite?
First off we want to know what kind of cookie we will win, if it's oatmeal raisin or gingersnap, we're not so interested, but if it's a chocolate chip cookie we're all in!!
Susan & I are going to take a stab at it and say it's some sort of worm in the gut.
I'm willing to go double or nothing and say it's H. poly because I know you have done work with them.
If we're incorrect, could you give us a hint. We refusing to ask anyone as LSHTM!!!
YEAH!! Can't wait to tell Susan we were correct.
Spent most of the afternoon today looking at trypanosomes under a microscope, they are cute little buggers when they're alive & hard to find once they die! Of course they're not nearly as cool as H. poly that you've shown me in the lab squirming around.
Any other cool photos to share?
