Today is:

75th birthday of the Empire State Building.

3 years after the famous 'Mission Accomplished' statement by Bush. Things have changed quite a bit in 3 years.

Almost 17,000 more wounded troops
Over 2250 more troops killed
10-15 thousand more insurgents
Cost increase from 79 billion to 320 billion dollars
Support for the war down from 70% to 41%
More here.

Let's hope we don't get too many more accomplishments like those. Oh yeah, and according to Scott McClelland we are now "on our way to mission accomplished". What is this, some sort of reverse war in bizzaro world?

A little perspective. Of all the troops killed in Iraq, about 6% died during 'major combat operations.' 94% have died since 'mission accomplished.'

And that's not even taking into account the tens of thousands of Iraqis killed in their 'liberation.'

Bizarro world indeed.
