ANCHORAGE, Sept. 8 -- Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has billed taxpayers for 312 nights spent in her own home during her first 19 months in office, charging a "per diem" allowance intended to cover meals and incidental expenses while traveling on state business.Naturally they have a perfectly reasonable "explanation" for taking the per diem, an explanation that all good conservatives will immediately accept.

What is the latest? It seems Gov. Palin has been charging the State of Alaska a "per diem" allowance for nights she spent at home.
