Thanks John McCain

“[T]his bill would not have been agreed to had it not been for John McCain. … But, you know, this is a bipartisan accomplishment, a bipartisan success. And if people want to get something done in Washington, they just watch John McCain.” — Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, 9/29/08

John McCain suspended his campaign and rushed to Washington to straighten things out. Here is Mitt Romney again:
"But, you know, this is a bipartisan accomplishment, a bipartisan success. And if people want to get something done in Washington, they just watch John McCain," he said.

What a leader! Why don't Republicans vote for a bill that John McCain supports? Wonder if he will suspend his campaign again?

I know, it's amazing. The Republicans are the ones who didn't go through with voting for it. Apparently they are cranky because Nancy Pelosi said something nasty about their failed economic policies.

Just saw McCain's brief statement on CNN, about why the bill the house republicans voted against failed, and I am totally discussed with this complete and total A-hole. From now on McCain in now McChit, as in 'he is a lying sack of the the same McChit is. I no longer have even a milliliter of respect for this piece of crap U.S. Senator.

Doesn't this country still have a president, a leader to help us Americans all get through this crisis. Where is little Bush. Did he go home to his mommy, Barbara for cupcakes and milk. What a loser he is!!!
I am so proud to state that I voted for both Gore and Kerry and not this jerk who has finally lifted up poor Herbert Hoover up from the lowest rungs on worst presidents of all time list.
Tonight I will raise a glass to having been an American under the failed leadership of the worst president of all time. And I thought Nixon was bad.

Ms. Pelosi, as speaker of the house, what you said today is exactly the facts and needed to be said. Ms. Palin could only wish she had even 1% on your ability.

Would that be the same hoover or was it roosevelt who was on tv, either before or after the depression.?
Obama gets the second most campaign contribs from the mac's and the maes.
Ms. pelosi is an ignorant slut.
Professor, here is a dipshit

Too bad Republicans are left with supporters like anonymous above.

90 some Dems voted against the bill, some at the instruction of Queen Nancy because they were freshmen congressmen who were up for re-election. Chris Dodd killed legislation in 2002 that would have tightened loan requirements at Fannie & Freddie (Dem created entires into socialism). I'm sure devoted Dems can cite Rep contributions to this mess, but all the finger pointing solves nothing. Queen Nancy's partisan tirade prior to the vote was the dumbest political move I've seen in a long time, but that didn't cause the legislation to fail. The American people killed the bill because most of us find the actions of some of these CEO's and financial experts immoral if not illegal. We don't want to "bailout" the bums who play money games at our expense. We need to get past that and recognize the fact that a failure to act may well lead us to a worldwide depression that could impact generations to come.

Damn Watson, did you even read Pelosi's speech she gave on the House floor? I'll bet $20 bucks you didn't. Show me the "partisan tirade" portion of the speech. Exactly which part of the speech was a partisan tirade.

I don't know about you, but I lost about 1/3 of my retirement yesterday.

Here ya go:(notice no mention of barney frank etal cheering on the lenders to give more loans to people who couldn't pay it back)
"When President Bush took office, he inherited President Clinton's surpluses — four years in a row, budget surpluses, on a trajectory of $5.6 trillion in surplus. And with his reckless economic policies, within two years, he had turned that around.

And now eight years later, the foundation of that fiscal irresponsibility, combined with an anything goes economic policy, has taken us to where we are today. They claim to be free market advocates, when it's really an anything goes mentality. No regulation, no supervision, no discipline. And if you fail, you will have a golden parachute, and the taxpayer will bail you out.
